We think that an ice cream scoop makes a great tool to scoop out hard butters and oils, such as coconut oil. A spoon has such a thin handle that it’s hard to get a good grip on it when scooping something hard. We have even had handles bend while scooping. A spatula is often too flimsy and can’t cut into hard oils or butters. That’s why we think that an ice cream scoop or paddle is a great tool of the trade.
