How to Make Christmas Tree Scented Sachets
These scented sachets are the perfect way to fill your home with the scent of fresh cut Christmas trees even if you have an artificial one! They are SUPER EASY to make, as easy as 1, 2, 3 in fact and they make a great little stocking stuffer or hostess gift as well!
To use simply pop in your vacuum cleaner bag, toss in a basket or drawer, hang in a closet or place in a sunny window, around heat vents or nestled near the fireplace. The fragrance will be released in to your home and fill it with the scents of the season!
Our Potpourri & Sachet Unscented Fixative Base absorbs and holds the scent of the fragrance oil and will retain scent better than potpourri alone. 100% natural, plant-based, non toxic & biodegradable.

SUPPLIES
- Digital Scale (Optional if you know the amount of base you are using)
- 8 x 3″x5″ Drawstring Muslin Bags (fits 2 oz base) or 4 x 4″x6″ Drawstring Muslin Bags (fits 4 oz base)
- Mini Plastic Scoop or Spoon
- Pipettes for Fragrance or Essential Oils
- Glass Jar(s) (enough for each fragrance used)
- Measuring Cup / Mixing Bowl
- Mixing Spoon / Wisk
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb Potpourri & Sachet Fixative Base
- 0.5 oz Christmas Tree Fragrance Oil (For this Tutorial we used 0.125 oz (4 g) of each of the following Fragrance Oils: Christmas Tree Fragrance Oil, Oatmeal & Raisin Fragrance Oil, Almond Fragrance Oil, and Lemon Zest Fragrance Oil. This process was so easy that we immediately made another batch of four 4 using Blueberry Lemon Verbena Fragrance Oil, Apple Cobbler Delight Fragrance Oil, Blackberry & Currant Fragrance Oil, and Persian Pear Fragrance Oil.)
DIRECTIONS
Step 1
Add 0.5 oz (14 g) Christmas Tree Fragrance Oil to 1 lb Potpourri & Sachet Unscented Fixative Base or split up your mixture depending on how many fragrances you would like to use. (We used a ratio of 4 oz (113 g) base to 0.125 oz (4 g) fragrance.)
Mix with a whisk or spoon.
Step 2
Place mixture in a glass jar with lid and allow the fragrance to absorb for 2-7 days. (Shake up the mixture occasionally.)
Step 3
Package in muslin bags, label & you’re done!
TO USE
Toss a sachet in your vacuum & spread the scent of freshly cut Christmas tree throughout your house! To refresh, simply add a few more drops of fragrance.
ALSO ADD SACHETS TO
Cars, drawers, gym bags, or lockers. Place them in a sunny window or near vents for an even stronger scent release.
WARNING
Do not place scented potpourri on wood, plastic, or painted surfaces as any unabsorbed fragrance can cause damage to these surfaces. Warning labels on your finished products are recommended to ensure customers use them properly. Testing is always recommended to ensure desired results are achieved.
